In many parts of the world, the social fabric was already distressing before the pandemic. These include specially those, where joint family system has already diminished to a greater extent.

The lockdown has made us realize the importance of actually appreciating the things and people that we take for granted, but what it has taught us is the spirit of togetherness and giving a helping hand. Now with #COVID19, there is a greater chance of “social recession”, with profound consequences on our health, work, and social life.

A great emphasis in media is Social Distancing which was enforced on people and was well taken as masses feared of contracting the viral infection with deadly consequences. Unfortunately, this created a “loneliness syndrome” which eventually led the people to breakout from their homes and start agitation against the lockdowns. A further factor which superimposed this condition was the loss of jobs and financial distress due on business.

Why can’t there be a physical distancing instead of social ones, which will keep the mental health of people in a better situation. The new concept of Virtual working is said to be the future, but are we ready to confine ourselves in a room without any rules of work?
